Celebrate Poetry Month with the Online Kelowna Poetry Contest for Adults! Are you feeling creative? Write a poem and submit your entry between April 1 to May 31st. Please email your poem to klreference@orl.bc.ca along with your name and phone number or drop hard copies submissions to your branch and we will make sure your poem will be send to Kelowna Downtown Library.

Submission Guidelines:

1. There is no set theme. Let your imagination run wild!
2. Poetry can be written in any poetic style and on any subject but must be in English.
3. Only one poem per person. Multiple entries will not be accepted.
4. The poem must be an original work by the person entering the contest. Plagiarism is a serious offense!
5. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday , May 31st 16 at 8:00 p.m. 
6. Poems containing language that is vulgar, offensive, or inappropriate will not be accepted.
7. Prizes:

        1^st prize- one book and a $25 Mosaic gift certificate

        2^nd prize- two books

        3^rd prize- one book

The Okanagan Regional Library will be home to Vernon's Free Little Art Gallery (FLAG) for 1 week from Oct 3rd to Oct 8th!

Get hands-on and make cool stuff in the Vernon Engineering Club! Learn from a variety of topics, like 3D Design, Robots, Building Challenges, Take-Aparts, and enjoy fun introductions into related topics from Coding, Math, Science with a focus on practical applications. Runs on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. New topics twice monthly!

Vernon Permaculture is an open community group whose aim is to share regenerative knowledge and hands on experiences with one another in order to build a stronger community and healthier local environment.

Curious about eBooks, digital audio, or any of the ORL's many electronic resources? Having trouble making Libby work on your device? Book a time with one of our knowledgeable staff. Please bring in your device, library card and PIN number, and any necessary passwords.

A set of three sessions designed to help participants learn how to navigate their Tablets and/or Smart Phones. Please plan to attend all three sessions, as they build upon each other. Register all family members attending under one name.

Indigenous elders and friends meet to play dice, share food and talk. Attendance is by invitation or by speaking directly to one of the elders.
