Classics Book Club (Online)
Welcome to Classics Book Club, a virtual book club where we tackle a classic novel together and meet online every 1st and 3rd Thursday to discuss what we’ve read.
Participants are responsible for finding their own copy of the books. Many titles are availble as ebooks or audiobooks through Okanagan Regional Library - OverDrive.
Online registration is required. Please ensure your email address is entered correctly, as we will be sending you the the link to participate shortly before the event. You will need a computer, smartphone or tablet and WiFi connection to participate.

May 2 and 16: A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen
June 6: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button by F. Scott Fitzgerald
July 4 and 18: We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson

The library book club is a great way to meet new people, talk about books you love, and discover new books! No registration required- read the selected monthly book and come prepared to talk about it.
Salmon Arm Reads Book Club
Love reading and talking about books? Join our Salmon Arm Reads Book Club! Explore settings, characters, formats, genres, and perspectives that might be outside of your reading norms with our monthly challenge. We meet monthly on Tuesday mornings to engage in friendly discussion about our chosen books!
This program may be cancelled if registration does not meet the minimum number of participants required. In such case, the library will inform registered participants by email.
April 9: Read a book that was adapted into a movie, then watch the movie.
May 14: Read a book based solely on the title.
June 11: Read the first book in a series.
July 9: Read a book written by a First Nations, Inuit or Métis author.
August 13: Read a travel memoir.
September 10: Read a retelling of a classic story (fairytale, myth, Shakespearian play, classic novel, etc).
October 8: Read a book with a female protagonist over the age of 60.
November 12: Read a book in which an animal or inanimate object is a point-of-view character.
December 10: Read a book with “snow” or “winter” in the title.
* This program is based on the Read Harder Challenge by Book Riot.
Perspectives (rescheduled from May 13)
Join us for this special session of Perspectives as we welcome Harnaaz Kaur Gerwal from Chaa da Cup!
As part of Perspectives, participants explore diverse experiences to build empathy, understanding, and compassion.
Using the Global Justice Calendar, we'll read a book every month based on a social justice theme and discuss and reflect on the themes and values expressed. It is a safe space for people to share their experiences and discuss important topics.
