Feeling bored? The library has STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Math) materials available all summer long to explore at your convenience. Code & Go Mice, Ozobots, Cubetto, Little Bits, Cubelets, STEM Fairy Tale Kits, and more will be arriving every two weeks throughout the holiday.

Each answer earns you an extra ticket to enter the draw for a Summer Reading Club prize. Fun, quick and easy activities

 

Starting July 9, a new kit will be available every 2 weeks. (While supplies last.)

Come animate and render a five second video using the free and open-source software Blender.  Learn the basics of keyframe animation using a pre-rigged character model.  A USB flash-drive is required if the participant(s) wish to take their rendered videos and Blend (project) files with them.  This program is intended for teens only.

This one hour Preschool STEAM Activity is planned with a short story time at the beginning, followed by an activity, craft or STEAM stations (eg. Lego/Duplo, KEVA planks, Code & Go Mice, etc.) that correlate with the books we have read. Best suited to children ages 3.5-6 yrs; parent participation required.

A 3D pen melts plastic at its tip so an artist can “draw” fun and creative  objects in three dimensions. Great for hands-on learning, visual-spatial skills, and problem solving. Best of all, you can take your fantastic 3D creations home!
