Rutland Pop-up Makerspace (4hrs)

This is a 4 hour period where certified ORL Makerspace users can make an appointment to use the Makerspace equipment in Rutland, or where any library user aged 14+ can get certified to use the Makerspace equipment.

Currently Available Equipment:

Cricut Maker

If you are interested in getting certified or using the Makerspace equipment in Rutland at this time, please contact staff to set up an appointment! You will need to bring government issued ID to complete the certification process. Makerspace users under the age of 19 will need to bring their Parent/Guardian to co-sign the waiver and agreement.

Do you want to hang out with the sweetest dog ever? Come meet Rolo at the Salmon Arm library. Rolo is a miniature poodle and a certified St. John’s Ambulance Therapy Dog. He loves to be read to, petted and talked to. Rachel, his human, is also there to answer questions you may have about Rolo, therapy dogs, and more.

You can sign up for one-on-one sessions or drop-in and see if Rolo and Rachel are free for a chat.

If you're looking to learn about new things you may not know about, we'll have a short activity every week where you'll get to practice something useful - spreadsheets, document editing, file management, email, searching for help on the internet, accessing library resources, that sort of thing. This activity will go from 1PM to 2:30PM, and you can start setting up your device at 12:50PM if you want to be ready to go at the very beginning of that period. You're welcome to drop in later if you're looking for more specific support.

A limited number of laptops will be provided for training purposes, but please make sure to bring in your device and passwords if it's appropriate for the problem you're seeking help with.
