The Literacy Alliance of the Shuswap Society is offering a drop-in technology help desk to assist with basic questions about using digital devices. This includes tablets, cell phones, laptops and e-readers. Examples of topics suitable for the drop-in technology help desk include:
• Connecting to wireless internet
• Downloading APPs
• Making font sizes bigger when viewing websites
Time may be limited to 20 minutes depending on the number of people waiting for help.

Helen will share Okanagan stories that have been handed down for generations. She will also share contemporary stories by Indigenous authors that reflect Indigenous lifestyle. The stories will vary in length and include an art activity. This will help children remember the story so that they may share it with their families.

to be self-sufficient for at least three days following a disaster? Are you
looking to get or make an emergency kit to be ready for an emergency? Making
and practicing a plan will help you be ready to deal with any emergencies that
come your way.
Come
join the Canadian Red Cross on July 6th to learn essential tips to
be better prepared for risks present in your community and how to recover from
emergencies! Registered attendees will be entered into a draw to win a free
emergency kit!

The Legal Advocacy program provides free confidential information, advice and assistance in areas of poverty law such as: residential tenancy disputes; income assistance; provincial and federal benefits programs; employment standards; and consumer and debt problems. Drop-in any time between 1:30-3:30 pm with your questions!
BC author Karen Harmon will read from her new book Fat and Beautiful: A Story of Love, Pain and Courage, a memoir about her estranged sister. This is the award-winning author's third book.
Ms. Harmon will be available after the reading to discuss her work.
