Practice your reading skills by registering for a free 20-minute session to read with a certified St. John's Ambulance therapy dog! For ages 6 to 12.
Session times available are:
3:00 PM to 3:20 PM
3:30 PM to 3:50 PM
4:00 PM to 4:20 PM
When registering online, it will appear that you are registering for a 30 minute session, but the last 10 minutes of the session block are to provide a break for our dog. Sessions are only 20 minutes long.
Research shows that reading to a dog is tremendously motivational for kids and provides a calming, relaxed environment for children who may feel hesitant or anxious about reading.
Kids must be school-aged, able to read some words on their own, and feel comfortable reading with a dog and the dog’s adult handler.
Looking for a place to play some table top games? Every Tuesday we will be hosting a board games night. From social games to in-depth

Topic: From whence did they come? Finding the place of origin for your Immigrant Ancestor, presenter Claire Smith-Burns
Before you can start researching records of your Immigrant Ancestors to Canada in their country of origin, you must first narrow down their place residence in that country. The clues you need are in Canadian records. We will survey a number of records that may hold the clue for your ancestor’s birthplace.
