Event Details

From St. Petersburg to Mexico City to Longyearbyen, Jennifer Cockrall-King takes us on a photo tour of the international seed banks that she's visited over the past 5 years in preparation for her upcoming book. Along the way she poses the question: Are seed banks the best way to ensure a resiliency in agriculture, deliciousness at our tables, and nutrition in food?

Jennifer is a Naramata-based food culture writer and author of the books Food and the City: Urban Agriculture and The New Food Revolution, (Prometheus Books, 2012,) Food Artisans of the Okanagan: Your Guide to Locally Crafted Fare, (TouchWood Editions, 2016.) Jennifer is also co-author of tawâw: Progressive Indigenous Cuisine, (Ambrosia / Anansi, 2019,) with her friend Chef Shane Chartrand, (Enoch Cree Nation, Treaty 6.)
