Story Time at the Mission Branch uses stories, songs, rhymes, and movement to continue
to build your child's language learning skills. Recommended for ages 3 to 6
with a parent/caregiver.
Join us for an energetic half hour of songs, rhymes, fingerplays, instruments, & stories that focus on early literacy & language development. Toddler Time is our interactive literacy program that helps grow the roots of a lifelong love of language. Bond with your toddler through play time, songs, books, and dance. This program is recommended for toddlers from 18 months to 3 years of age. Caregiver participation is required.
Join us for
a fun morning of boat building! Come build, test, and take home your very own
battery powered sponge boat. All supplies are provided. Be prepared to make a splash! FREE event
for ages 7 to 12. Registration is required, space is limited.
Join
us after Story Times for Stay & Play, an unstructured playtime for children
and their caregivers to socialize and explore. Soft play equipment and a
variety of toys will be available. Recommended for children up to 5 years and
their parents/caregivers, but all children are welcome.

Explore biochemistry with UBC Okanagan's Let's Talk Science Outreach Team! Participants will learn how to extract their very own DNA and find out what DNA looks like. Afterward, they will take a closer look at the language used by DNA. They will learn how to “speak” DNA by building codon keychains and will finish up by taking their own fingerprint. For ages 6 to 12. Registration is required
